Adam Larson (b. 1990) is an acclaimed American saxophonist, composer, and author. He began playing the saxophone at 11 and has been recognized as a prodigious talent by critics like Howard Reich and Nate Chinen. After graduating high school in 2008, he moved to New York City to earn his Bachelor’s and Master’s in Jazz Performance from The Manhattan School of Music.Larson has released eight albums, including “With Love, From Chicago,” which received a 4.5-star rating from DownBeat Magazine. He regularly performs at renowned jazz venues and has toured the U.S. and several countries, including Poland and South Africa. In addition to performing, Larson teaches at the Kansas City Art Institute and has authored 12 jazz etude books.
Clark Sommers is a distinguished bassist, composer, and educator, known for his honest musical tone. He has performed extensively worldwide with notable artists such as Cedar Walton, Brian Blade, and Kurt Elling. Clark received his undergraduate degree in Jazz Studies from California Institute of the Arts in 2002, studying under Charlie Haden, and completed a master's in Jazz Composition at DePaul University in 2021.
As the bassist for Kurt Elling, Clark tours globally and has contributed to two GRAMMY-winning albums: “Dedicated to You” (2009) and “Secrets Are The Best Stories” (2020). He also leads his own groups, Ba(SH) and The Lens Project, with multiple album releases, including Ba(SH)'s debut in 2013 and the latest Lens album in Fall 2022.
