STRETTO Music Festival: Live Piano Concert at Pleasant Mountain Music

🎹 Pleasant Mountain Music is pleased to host a unique, and worldwide music festival in October 2026: The Stretto Music Festival! 🎹
This festival is dedicated to celebrating the versatility of narrow key (or alternative size) keyboards and acoustic pianos. The standard width of an Octave on a piano keyboard is 6.5in (16.5cm). For anyone with small or smaller sized hands, this poses a real challenge as the distance of a standard key can often surpass the physical capacity of the player.
Fortunately, the makers of Athena Narrow Key keyboard have created an amazing digital piano with an octave that measures 5.5in (13.9cm). And the Small Hands Piano Club is putting on a concert at Pleasant Mountain Music using this terrific instrument!
Join us for this FREE concert on Friday October 30, from 6:15-7:30pm
🎹 2435A Granville Street
🎹 Come dressed as a piano key, or in black and white (Halloween is just the next day!). Costumes are not mandatory to attend.
A message from the STRETTO Festival Creators:
2026 is our first year celebrating the manufacturers who are making a difference by building pianos with narrow piano keys for artists everywhere. We intend for every subsequent festival year to be even more fruitful, with more and more makers joining this initiative via our concerts!
With each new piano and keyboard manufacturer joining the festival, we include more artists everywhere who play “stretto” narrow keys, and who now have the opportunity to study, rehearse, and perform with them.
Our concerts were the first global public events where pianists could experience strettos for the first time since 2021. Fulfilling the function of a showroom before there were showrooms with narrow keys, we always aim to satisfy all pianists, to give them a choice of piano key-size for concerts and to introduce them to innovative new products.
After every live concert with in-person audiences, we invite audience members to the stage to try narrow-key pianos. Experience is the tried and true way to communicate the benefits and value that narrow keys offer, and playing concerts is the best way to reach new stretto players in 2026.
