Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in Australia – the Heart Foundation reports it accounts for around one in four deaths, or one life every 12 minutes. Staying active and including regular strength training is widely recognised by leading health bodies as part of a heart-healthy lifestyle. In this one-hour session, you’ll learn the fundamentals of strength training, why it’s valued as part of looking after your heart, and how to start incorporating it into your routine – whether that’s at home, at a gym, or with a personal trainer. The session is hosted by Michael from DoDay Personal Training – Hobart’s most highly reviewed personal trainer.
