About the Exhibition
Street to Studio presents new works created in studio settings, highlighting how muralists adapt their practice when moving away from the scale and ephemerality of outdoor walls. Visitors will encounter a diverse mix of paintings, illustration-led pieces and mixed media works. Together, these works echo the bold palettes and symbolic imagery of the collective’s outdoor practice, reimagined in new and more intimate formats within the gallery space.
Since its inception in 2013, the Minaw Collective has grown and evolved. This fluidity has shaped the group’s identity, and kept its voice dynamic. The current members presenting work in Street to Studio are: Anna Doran, Claire Prouvost, Em Blake ESTR, Friz, Holly Pereira, KinMx, Klo Wi, Loki PookaDubh, MyfanwyNia, Novice Jess, Signs of Power, Zippy, and Zurdie.
“This exhibition lets us share another side of our practice. Our murals are created in public, often with the energy and pressure of live painting, but in the studio the pace is different. Work can grow quietly and privately, without the need to perform or be seen, allowing ideas to unfold in more intimate ways. Street to Studio gives people a chance to experience that personal side of our creativity up close.” - Minaw Collective
When the Minaw Collective first formed, there were far fewer women active in street art in Ireland. Embodying the maxim “You have to see it to be it”, Minaw aimed to demonstrate that it was indeed possible for women to paint murals, street art and graffiti, despite it being uncommon at the time. Coming together created not only opportunities to collaborate, but also a sense of safety as well as a feeling of belonging to something larger and more meaningful. Even when working separately in their own studios, being part of the collective has meant not feeling alone in their practices. The friendships formed and the creative camaraderie they share continue to be the heart of Minaw, making Street to Studio both a celebration of their individual voices, and of the community that connects them.

About Minaw Collective

The name Minaw is a contemporary spin on the Irish word for woman, mná, spelled phonetically to make it more accessible to the international members of the group.
Reflecting a wide range of cultural and artistic influences, Minaw creates bold, vibrant murals where each member brings a distinctive creative voice. Showcasing their work together is an expression of empowerment and solidarity. Over the years, the collective has become a leading voice in the Irish street art scene, transforming spaces through public art that inspires and empowers.
