In today’s competitive art world, creating stunning artwork is just the beginning. To truly succeed, artists must master the art of public relations. Join us for a two-part comprehensive workshop designed to equip emerging and established artists with the tools and strategies needed to promote their work, secure gallery representation, and build a professional presence.
This workshop is ideal for emerging artists, art students, and any artist seeking to strengthen their public relations skills and professional practices. You will leave with practical strategies, valuable resources, and a clear, actionable plan to propel your art career forward.
Workshop Highlights:
- Writing Artist Statements and Bios: Craft compelling narratives that resonate with galleries, collectors, and the press.
- Approaching Galleries for Representation: Develop a strategy to find and approach galleries that align with your artistic goals.
- Applying to Juried Exhibitions: Learn how to navigate the application process and stand out in competitive juried shows.
- Earning Press and Publicity for Your Artwork: Gain practical tips for getting your work featured in the media and online platforms.
- General Professional Practices for Artists: Understand essential business practices, from pricing your work to managing client relations.
- Key Goals for Emerging Artists: Set actionable goals to advance your art career and track your progress.
What to bring:
- A draft of your current artist statement and bio (if you have one)
- A list of galleries or juried exhibitions you're interested in
- A notebook or laptop for taking notes
Part One of this workshop will be conducted virtually, followed by an in-person Part Two. We encourage participation in both sessions to gain comprehensive support. Both sessions are free to attend.
