Strangers & Scares: Halloween Speed-Friending in Salt Lake City

Come in costume, meet new friends through guided conversations, and stay for Halloween fun. Costumes encouraged, not required!

Meet new people, make friends, and get into the Halloween spirit, without having to figure out how to start a conversation with a room full of strangers.

Making friends as an adult can feel weirdly hard. Speed-friending makes it easier: everyone is there to connect, the conversations are guided, and you’ll meet a variety of people throughout the night. Come solo or bring a friend, either way, you’ll leave having talked to someone new.

How it works:

• Check in, grab a drink, and get settled.
• Rotate through a series of small group conversations.
• Each round has a light fall or Halloween prompt to get things started. You can use it or let the conversation take its own direction.
• After the rounds, stick around to mingle, reconnect with people you enjoyed meeting, and vote for your favorite costumes.

Costumes are encouraged, but not required. Go all out, keep it simple, or come as you are. We’ll have costume awards before the night ends!

There’s no pressure to click with everyone. Just a room full of people who showed up for the same reason you did: to make new friends in real life.
