Strangely Spoken: A Night of Open Mic Poetry Featuring Erin Mayan Simkhe
About this Event
This month, we’re excited to feature local poet Erin Mayan Simkhe. Through themes of identity, diaspora, and human connection, Erin’s poetry explores what it means to search for home, within ourselves, within culture, and within one another.
As always at a Strangely Spoken Feature, we’ll begin with our Featured set, followed by a brief intermission, then open mic poetry until 9 p.m., welcoming voices from the community, both seasoned and first-time readers alike.
Whether you’re stepping up to the mic or simply taking it all in, Strangely Spoken is a space for connection, vulnerability, and artistic exploration.
Come early, grab a cider or mead, and settle in for an evening of poetry that’s honest, surprising, and unforgettable. Tickets not required. (open mic signups begin at 6:30 p.m.)
