Strange Times: Short Films Program One

A set of six unsettlingly /amusing short films by talented filmmakers with filmmakers in attendance for a Q&A afterwards:

Meow! directed by Michal Vojtech and Ariel de la Garza Davidoff (UK/2024/14.30mins) In order to find her pet cat, a young toilet attendant has to sell her feet pics to a deranged river hunchback and find her way to a shadow puppet theatre adaptation of her life.

3, 2, 1, 0 directed by Mingun Kim (Korea/2024/15.37mins) Three best friends, Gyu-bin, Yu-hyeok, and Dong-hyun, get stranded on a deserted island after an accident during their trip. The three of them stay positive and work together to survive. But gradually, they start to keep an eye on each other.

HomePlanet directed by Andrew Pritzker (USA/2024/26 mins) Barefoot on a country highway, a Disoriented Man is picked up by Two Local Cops who suspect he may be a space alien.

Beach-O directed by Karen Lawler, Leah Smith (USA/2024/11.18mins) This 16mm film follows Greg and Lesley as they enjoy a summer’s day at the beach. After they befriend a gang of local partiers, their day takes an unexpected turn when everyone gets hungry…

The Burger directed by Nathan R. Smith (USA/USA/8.45mins) After grabbing takeout for his girlfriend, a chance encounter threatens to turn a toy collector’s life upside down.

8 Ball directed by Rebecca Celeste (USA/2024/5.04mins) A woman struggling with depression receives a package from her mother of her old Magic 8 Ball she loved playing with as a child.
