Join the Clark County Museum on Wednesday, June 12 at 6:30pm for “Strange Tales from the Atomic Age” presented by the Atomic Museum’s Director of Education, Matthew Malinowski. Learn the origin and evolution of atomic testing in the United States and hear stories from the hundreds of nuclear experiments and detonations conducted at the Nevada Test Site - less than a hundred miles from the glittering lights of Las Vegas. From unique weapon designs, desert craters, and bomb viewing parties, to disappearing mannequins, the future of space travel, and the influence of nuclear science on pop culture, Malinowski will share interesting anecdotes from our atomic universe.
Matt Malinowski is the Director of Education at the Atomic Museum and is passionate about storytelling in museums and the evolution of cultural institutions into more equitable, welcoming, and engaging places for all. He leads a team of dedicated volunteers and interns and fosters the growth of the Atomic Museum's educational programming. Malinowski has worked in the realm of informal education for more than two decades and holds a master's degree in Museum Studies from Harvard University.
Doors open at 6:00pm. Program begins at 6:30pm. Free admission. The Clark County Museum is located at 1830 S. Boulder Hwy, Henderson, NV 89002.
