In his debut solo show, GP and writer Dr Dave Wandless rips open the world of modern medicine. Expect crowd work sharper than a scalpel, tales of IUDs confused with IEDs, and a surgeon’s “trophy cupboard” you’ll never unsee. Add in a Sadness Cloud or two, impostor syndrome, and the fact that sometimes patients (and colleagues) are absolute pricks — and you’ve got stand-up stitched together with the raw honesty of his blog Straight Outta Practice.
Expect sharp crowd work, twisted consultation stories - from the patient who confused an IUD with an IED, to the husband dragging his itchy bum into clinic like a spaniel on the carpet - and the kind of gallows humour that keeps doctors upright when the job would rather flatten them.
