Read-aloud Summer Series of curated children's books on nature and plants for the whole family.
About this Event

We're excited to offer ongoing youth programming during our 2024 summer series. On the 2nd Tuesday of every month, join us for free at the TPF gardens for a read aloud of a children's book themed around our love for the natural world. (Pre-K through 5th grade)

Afterwards, youngsters will join in an experiential, sensory walk for all ages. Families will learn about different California native flora and fauna through observation and active engement in the Theodore Payne gardens. Leave feeling connected and engaged to the beauty and knowledge around you! Ideal for grandparents, aunties, uncles, or any other caretakers looking for something to do with the kiddos while school's out!

One adult per two children. Please dress comfortably for walking, sitting and being outdoors. We strongly recommend bringing a water bottle and sun protection. Please be aware there may be some uneven terrain during the garden walk.

Suggested donations are welcome in any amount that is right for you.

Albert Garnica is the education manager at TPF, with a background in children's theatre and over 20+ years of experience creating curricula for students in academic settings and informal education related to the arts and sciences.
