Highwire Improv is where the unexpected happens every single time and the audience goes on the adventure together. Baltimore's funniest performers create live, unscripted comedy that is packed with surprises. Come to the funniest corner in Highlandtown for $10 and be part of something that can never be repeated.
Tonight's lineup is:
Pocket Mice:
Seven improvisers each bringing a unique perspective to create a full and well-rounded world. From the 1970s to the 2000s. From Chicago to Baltimore. From house music to Muppets soundtracks. They are also funny.
Chronic Pain:
Joking is a normal reaction to life past thirty. When that moment passes, you usually stop laughing. But for some people, the laughter continues long after the bit is done. When it lasts for a full longform set or more, it's called Chronic Pain. That's us, Chronic Pain, an improv team out of Baltimore. Instead of letting it bring us down, we bring it to the stage. We met as students at the Baltimore Improv Group and the only known cure is to see us perform.
What is an improv show, exactly?
Improv is live theater created spontaneously by the performers with the inspiration of the audience. Unless noted otherwise, it’s a comedy show, made even more exciting, intriguing, and hilarious by the fact that none of it is pre-scripted! At an improv show you’ll see a wide range of creative and fascinating humans perform a highwire act by making comedy out of thin air! It can take many forms, including short competitive games, slice of life scenes, and full length sitcom or movie style performances!
A Highwire Improv show is truly a once in a lifetime performance, never done before and never to be done again!
About the Venue:
The Highwire Center is Highwire Improv's home base in the Highlandtown neighborhood of Baltimore! Part of Highlandtown Main Street and the Highlandtown Arts District, The Highwire Center is home to classes, free workshops, shows, community events, corporate training, and more! The Highwire Center is accessible, with ramp access available, an ADA restroom, and flat transit throughout the space.
