Storytime & Crafting w/ Jodi Levine & Margaret McCartney: Mousetown

Martha Stewart Living alumnae Jodi Levine and Margaret McCartney team up to create a beautiful and unique craft book that also tells the story of Mouse and his adventures in Mousetown.
Welcome to Mousetown! In this inventive craft book, kids follow Mouse through his day in Mousetown, from getting ready to traveling to work, closing shop, grocery shopping, party prep, and throwing a surprise party for his friend Ginger. There are over 30 activities throughout the book that use recycled materials to recreate the story's scenes so kids can follow along or make new stories set in Mousetown with Mouse and friends.
Mousetown includes:

• Photographic illustrations of Mouse’s bakery, house, grocery store, and other town elements, with many crafted and recycled elements
• Instructions for recreating all of the elements of Mousetown
• Photocopyable templates of Mouse, his friends, and accessories
• Photographic glossary of tools and materials

Margaret McCartney has illustrated two previous books for children, which won the AAAS/Subaru Prize for Excellence in Science Books for Hands-On Science Books, and (words by Dee Snider). Her illustrations and designs have appeared on everything from garden gloves to kids clothes to holiday ornaments. She lives in Brooklyn with her family including their cat, Marie, who has mixed feelings about mice. You can see more of her work at margaret-mccartney.com.

Jodi Levine is a lifelong crafter and founder of SuperMakeIt, a brand celebrating crafts made from recycled + everyday materials. Her previous books are Candy Aisle Crafts followed by Paper Good Projects and an e-book,. Jodi spent 19 years at Martha Stewart Living, where she was Editorial Director of Martha Stewart Kids and Baby magazines. She develops craft content for brands such as Sesame Workshop and is a regular contributor to publications such as The New York Times and The Week Junior. She was a judge on HBO’s Craftopia, and has appeared on The Today Show and elsewhere. She lives in the Hudson Valley, NY, with her family.
