About this Event
Join us for a Storytelling Workshop focused on Black Families on the Move! Led by author and professtional storyteller Kay Bolden, this in-person event will be held at the National Hook-Up of Black Women Joliet Headquarters. Come share and listen to stories that celebrate the strength and resilience of Black families. We will honor our past, present, and future through the power of storytelling.
Together, we’ll explore:
Joy as Resistance: How our creativity, resilience, and connection to each other help us survive and heal.
Faith and Legacy: How our faith has been a source of strength and guidance across generations, navigating the complexities of being born in the North with a Southern legacy.
Nature’s Role: How we’ve preserved ancestral bonds with the earth through gardening, cooking, fishing, and more.
This is a special opportunity to gather, reflect, and celebrate the stories that continue to shape us. We welcome all generations to share, listen, and connect in faith and community.
Light refreshments served.
