In this expressive and engaging four-session ongoing courses, students will be guided to tell their personal stories through visual art, using either drawing or painting—whichever medium they feel most connected to. The focus of this workshop is on blending observational drawing and/or painting with imagination to create powerful, meaningful storytelling artwork.
With the instructor’s guidance, you’ll begin the project by brainstorming and sketching out your ideas. Then, while learning foundational techniques in drawing and/or painting, you’ll incorporate symbolic or meaningful objects and images that represent important moments, memories, or aspects of your personal journey—resulting in a dynamic and visually engaging composition.
