Storytelling Night—"Sex"
About this Event
Our theme for June is SEX 🔥
Awkward, joyful, confusing, transformative, disappointing, liberating sex. First times, last times, and everything in between.
Give us stories of desire, bodies, boundaries, fantasies, shame, pleasure, intimacy, and miscommunication. Sex that meant everything—and sex that meant absolutely nothing.
As always, interpret the theme freely.
Maybe it’s about a terrible hookup that taught you something important. Or the sex you didn’t have. Or the moment you understood your own desire for the first time.
Please come just to listen or get on stage, be vulnerable, and share with us, a diverse group of welcoming and open people who are curious about each others' lives.
Stories will last from 7 to 10 minutes. Expect ten stories plus an intermission.
We hold our event at Fábrica Braço de Prata, an enormous multi-roomed centro cultural in Marvila that hosts everything from salsa bands to intimate piano concerts to philosophical comedy.
To accommodate everyone, we will be in the outdoor tent right inside the gate to Fábrica Braço de Prata. Love is a popular edition, arrive early to get good seats.
Storytelling Lisboa is a completely free event run by volunteers. We welcome everyone to get on stage!
Absolutely no experience is necessary.We only ask that stories be true and personal and that they are performed as opposed to read—and they should be stories instead of philosophical musings, motivational speeches, or stand-up routines.The content is completely at the discretion of the storyteller as long as it is related in the monthly theme and respectful to the diversity and experiences of all humans.
