We are so excited to welcome Appalachian author Tammy Lucille Curry to Appalachian Pages for a special afternoon of imagination, creativity, and storytelling!
🍇 Meet the Characters of Blackberry Creek

Tammy will introduce young storytellers to Oliver, Scout, Arthur, and the miniature world of Blackberry Creek that helped inspire Oliver and the Rutherford House. Children will get to see photographs and miniatures, hear a selection from the book, and discover how real memories and treasured objects can become part of a story.
🎲 Then it's time for the Blackberry Creek Story Die!
Working together in small groups, children will roll the handmade wooden Story Die and use WHO • WHAT • WHEN • WHERE • WHY • WILDCARD to create their very own story. Everyone gets to contribute, and each group will have a chance to share what they created!
🏅 Participating children may also receive a Blackberry Creek Junior Storyteller Certificate to remember their storytelling adventure.
The best part?
❤️ There are no wrong answers in a story.
Sometimes all you have to do is use your imagination, roll the die, and see where the story takes you.
