KID TESTED:

When asked in New York City by a hipster in an Atari T-shirt at some dive bar what the music sounded like, Mishak simply said, “It’s songs to build tree forts to.”

This three-piece machine from Cleveland, Ohio extrudes a sound which ranges from driving power ballads like, “Drawing in The Sand,” to crafted and orchestrated riff rock songs like, “Service Engine Soon” and experiments in melodic pop tunes such as, “Friend and Enemies.”

The songs are well crafted, with thoughtful lyrics containing genuine expression of the human condition. Known for their bass player’s goofy stage acrobatics and the singer’s predilection for a general higher strata weirdness, and the slick drumming of Dr. James Beil, this band undoubtedly puts on an exciting and sometimes chaotic live performance. Kid Tested consists of singer and guitar player Shawn Mishak, bassist Dominic Ricciardi, and drummer Jim Beil. Kid Tested has been playing since 2001. They have performed Studio-A-Rama in Cleveland three times and have shared bills with acts such as: Land of Talk, Mission of Burma, Jad Fair, UME, and The Suzan. The band will be going on the road on and off for the next 6 months in support of this fourth album set to come out no later than fall of 2024. Mishak also wrote, directed, and helped produce a drama about a fictional Cleveland band called, “Long Way to Oblivion,” which premiered at the 35th Annual Cleveland International Film Festival and featured an all-Cleveland based band soundtrack. He is also currently in post-production on a documentary about two prominent Cleveland musicians.

Kid Tested is soon to release their long overdue fourth album, “How We Do” which is due out in the autumn of 2024 with tour dates in the works.
