Calling photographers of all ages (ages 10+) and stages to BYOC (bring your own camera) and meet at Miss Effie's Country Flowers & Garden Stuff (27387 130th Ave, Donahue, IA 52746) on Saturday, May 4th for two hours of fun learning, community, and a styled family maternity session.
What You Get
For $40, I'll provide the journals, pens, and prompts. Each person will choose which prompt he or she wants to work on during the event. We'll have time to wander the garden and dream before the photoshoot, and then we'll all come back and share what we learned after the styled session.
Valued at over $600 ($200 for an hour of mentoring, $200 for a stylized shoot, and $100 to reserve the flower farm) you'll come away with one hour of mentoring including your own personalized HD gallery to share as content on your social media accounts.
This event is perfect for mothers who wish to learn how to document their families better. This event is also perfect for local photographers who want to grow in their craft, make new friends, and have a safe place to ask questions of any kind!
Let’s place community over competition and support one another in our craft whether we are brand new or have been a professional photographer for some time.
Itinerary
3:00-4:00 PM - Learn tips and tricks from things I wish I knew before going pro, storytelling photography, and how to shoot in manual mode. I'll also be collecting tips and tricks from other photographers. We'll spend some time going through them together including a question and answer period. You'll have time to dream, wander Miss Effie's flower garden, and take pictures.
4:00-5:00 PM - Learn how to shoot a storytelling family maternity session using your own camera. We'll talk through settings and best practices for candid vs. posed during the stylized shoot.
