The Creative Team:
Pyn Stockman is a performance storyteller living on a boat in the West Midlands. She spends her time researching and telling stories. She loves her work! And is particularly interested in folk tales of woods and wild magics, folk and plant lore.
Arlene Burnett is a visual artist and qualified medical herbalist. She specializes in making creative work using found and natural materials and working with plants and teas. In the shows she integrates her scientific knowledge of plants and herbs with the performance.
Marc Reck is a musician, digital sound designer and long term collaborator. He specialises in narrative-based audio composition and production including live looping and handpan. He has performed alongside Pyn at story cafes, cathedrals and woodlands.
Pyn and Arlene developed Story-Tea in 2019 and were immediately booked for Birmingham Literature Festival. They are excited to have received arts council funding this year to develop Midsummer Brew into a full touring show incorporating a musician and working with Titania Krimpas as a director and Adverse Camber as advising producers. They are also delighted to be bringing Summer Brew home to Brum!!!
