About the event
Join us on our quest to mark storm drains that lead to the Indian River Lagoon in Melbourne, FL! This is a great opportunity to spend time outdoors while doing a low-impact activity that also helps educate local communities not to dump waste down our storm drains! Interested in volunteer hours or citizen learning opportunities? This can help!
What will volunteers do?
Volunteers will meet with the event organizer at the dedicated starting spot. From there, volunteers will receive a map of storm drains to go out and mark. After following the predetermined route, volunteers will mark the storm drains and return supplies back to the event organizer.
What will volunteers need to bring or wear?
Volunteers should wear loose, comfortable athletic clothing as well as closed-toed tennis shoes, as there may be up to 1 mile of walking alongside roads. Volunteers should also plan to bring sun protection and water.
