Storm Cuff • Talez Of A Fly Blackberry

Talez of a Fly Blackberry, a solo exhibition by Storm Cuff, a title derived from her 2023 photo series "Talez of Being a Fly Blackberry" is an exploration of Black identity through the lens of everyday moments, showcasing the richness, complexity, and beauty of our lives. Storm's work seeks to challenge conventional portrayals of Black life. In this project, she aims to tell stories that are rarely seen or heard - stories of joy, resilience, quiet power, and unapologetic individuality.

The title plays on the phrase "the blacker the berry, the sweeter the juice," a project that reimagines and reclaims this cultural adage as a celebration of the richness and depth of Black identity. A playful nod to the idea of "fly" as both a symbol of coolness and resilience, while also reflecting the sense of being part of something larger- like a "berry" within a vast, interconnected field. Each photograph and accompanying painting work in this series invites the viewer to reconsider the narrow narratives typically associated with Blackness, providing a more nuanced portrait of Black life. Storm's artistic crossover between mediums and mirroring images offers a space for introspection and recognition.

Through this exhibition, she hopes to open up spaces for empathy and understanding while also empowering the Black community to see themselves as whole, powerful, and worthy.

•March 29th- Opening Night from 6-10, featuring an artists talk with Storm Cuff, a live band performance by the Calm Company, and a choreographic vizualizer of The Grand National Experiment

•March 31st- Paint & Sip from 7-9 where you'll be invited to recreate one of Storms paintings, delving into your creation and connecting with community.

•April 2nd- Posing Workshop from 7-9, an interactive and empowering posing workshop designed to help you feel confident, poised, and camera-ready! Whether you're a model, aspiring influencer, or simply looking to enhance your personal photos, this workshop will teach you essential posing techniques that highlight your best angles and create powerful, dynamic shots.

•April 5th- Sahara's Poem Short Film Premiere from 7-9. Sahara's Poem is a tender and visually arresting exploration of how art can help navigate the complex emotions of grief, that the right time to embrace and express an eternal love for a beloved partner is always the right time, and it celebrates the profound impact of black love and the enduring power of creativity to heal and preserve the memory of those we have lost.

•April 6th- Closing Reception for "Talez Of A Fly Blackberry" from 6-10
