Stories of Shared Resilience: Connecting through Food, Art and Storytelling
About this Event
Stories of Shared Resilience
Week 5 of 6 • Sunday, August 9 • 1:00–2:30 PM
How does identity and belonging get expressed through food, art, film, and storytelling?
Join us for the fifth session of Stories of Shared Resilience, a free, six-part cross-cultural storytelling series exploring the people and movements that have shaped America.
We'll screen episodes of Native Dish: United Flavors of NYC. A series of mini portraits of New York City immigrant cultures through personal dishes - produced by NYC Media with producer-director Andrew Chow Guidone.
The screening will be followed by an engaging conversation with artists, filmmakers, storytellers Nyasha Laing, Jane Adhi, and Sivan Baron.
Through film, storytelling, and conversation, we'll continue our sharing of cultures and histories, and the collective action that shape our communities today.
Come learn, connect, and be part of the conversation in historic Room 9T at Riverside Church.
