About this Event

We're excited to partner with Left Bank Books to welcome authors Patrick McCarthy and Akif Cogo to the International Institute on June 16, 2026 for a conversation on their award-winning book, Bosnian St. Louis: Between Two Worlds. Their work shares firsthand stories of Bosnian refugees who rebuilt their lives in St. Louis after the war in Bosnia and helped shape the city through their resilience, culture and strong-work ethic.

This talk includes a panel-style discussion and will open the floor to an audience Q&A. We will have light Balkan refreshments.

This event centers community storytelling and respectful dialogue. By registering, you agree to participate in a manner consistent with these values.

Doors open at 6:00 PM. Event begins at 7:00 PM.
