About this Event
This Black History Month, West Atlanta Watershed Alliance honors the creativity and resourcefulness of our Black/African ancestors demonstrated by the fabric crafts they created.
Join us at the Outdoor Activity Center on February 14 from 11 AM to 2 PM for a fun crafternoon as we hand sew quilt squares inspired by Harriet Powers’ appliqué story quilts. Dive into the rich histories of quilting traditions across the African diaspora, and tap into that legacy through your own creativity.
No sewing experience is needed - just bring your imagination and a willingness to sew your story! This event is a great way for you and a couple of friends to celebrate Galentine's Day!
Light refreshments will be provided.
More information about the instructor coming soon!
This event is brought to you through a partnership with Scraplanta, a 501(c)3 environmental arts non-profit based in metro Atlanta. Learn more about Scraplanta here: https://www.scraplanta.org/
