Stories Beyond Borders August Bookclub
About this Event
Stories Beyond Borders Bookclub
• Empathy • Justice • Social Change
Stories Beyond Borders is a monthly book club dedicated to exploring voices and perspectives that are too often overlooked by mainstream publishing.
Together, we'll read fiction and non-fiction by writers from underrepresented communities across the globe—celebrating Black, Brown, disabled, Indigenous, migrant, refugee and other marginalised voices whose stories deserve to be heard. From Lebanon to Palestine, the Congo to the Caribbean, South Asia to the African diaspora and beyond, we'll discover books that challenge assumptions, spark conversation and help us better understand one another. This is a space for curiosity, learning and community. You don't need to be an expert, and you don't even need to finish the book. Whether you come to discuss the story, share your perspective or simply listen, you're welcome here. We believe that books can build empathy, and that empathy can inspire change.
