Stories & Songs with Ryan Balthrop, Cary Laine & Stephen Wade Scott
About this Event
Ryan Balthrop is a Mobile, Alabama based singer songwriter and has been touring the Gulf Coast and around the country and the Caribbean for over three decades. His songs are redemptive in nature. Presenting a problem, and and then an attitude that presents a solution. Adding humored satire to his observations of humanity and society, organized religion and spirituality, life and death.
His latest project, “Bama Drive-In” with co-writer, Rick Hirsch at his Studio H20, on Dog River in Mobile. The album features many of the areas finest.
Cary Laine, armed with an acoustic guitar and a powerhouse voice, can put a listener at immediate attention as she delivers her message with no apologies. Since her national introduction on NBC's The Voice (and turning all four chairs), Cary has toured across the nation, been busy honing her craft while writing new material, releasing her own music, and writing for other artists. Laine has more than her fair share of sass and soul as she delivers her message through multiple genres of music.
Stephen Wade Scott is a singer-songwriter and guitar player from Hattiesburg, Ms. Having played guitar in bands across the United States for the better part of 20 years, his focus has shifted to solo performances and fronting his band Stephen Wade Scott & the Low Spirits. The 2022 Mississippi Arts Commission Solo Artist of the Year, his performances are deeply personal, Southern-Gothic stories with a sharp wit reminiscent of artists like Loudon Wainwright and John Prine. Scott's presentation and story telling are wholly unique and entertaining with an energy that seems to leave very little in the tank.
