Stories and Sparkle: An Indigenous and Pride Crafting Circle

Nova Scotia Legal Aid (NSLA) is proud to announce a very special event, Stories and Sparkle: An Indigenous and Pride Crafting Circle. Building on NSLA’s annual tradition of creating signs in advance of the Pride Parade, this event will combine hands-on crafting with engaging Indigenous storytelling. Participants will have the opportunity to design Pride posters and parade signs, as well as decorate sunglasses to wear during the parade.

Throughout the evening, attendees will hear from Mi’kmaq and Two-Spirit guest speakers who will share stories and knowledge on topics such as Mi’kmaq regalia, Two-Spirit identities, and Indigenous history and culture. These presentations will provide meaningful opportunities for education, dialogue, and reflection while celebrating the diversity and resilience of Indigenous-Queer communities. This workshop is all ages and FREE! In lieu of an admission fee, please bring non-perishable food items for the Mi'kmaq Native Friendship Centre Food Bank.
