Stop the Bleed - Bleeding Control Training

About this Event

Please join us for a Bleeding Control Basics course! This course is provided by certified instructors from the UIHC Trauma Service in collaboration with the Emergency Medical Services Learning Resource Center. There is no cost to attendees.

What is Stop the Bleed?

Stop the Bleed is an emergency response course that empowers members of the general public to make a difference in a life-threatening emergency by teaching them the basic techniques of bleeding control. Victims of serious injuries can quickly die from uncontrolled bleeding, within five to 10 minutes.

Similar to how the general public learns and performs CPR, the public can learn proper bleeding control techniques, including how to use their hands, dressings, and tourniquets.

Who can enroll?

Anyone aged 18 or older can enroll in this course. It is approved by the American College of Surgeons to teach non-medical personnel the information and skills necessary to control life threatening bleeding until professional help arrives.

The tickets for this course are free.
