About this Event

Intro to Stop Motion Animation
Ages 12–18

In Intro to Stop Motion Animation, students explore the art and technology of bringing stories to life one frame at a time. Using cameras, creative props, and digital editing tools, participants will learn how animators create movement, characters, and visual effects through the stop motion filmmaking process.

Students will develop foundational skills in animation, storytelling, photography, filmmaking, and digital media production. Through hands-on projects and creative challenges, participants will learn how to plan scenes, capture frame-by-frame images, create smooth motion sequences, and edit their work into polished animated films.

Throughout the workshop, students will gain experience using professional animation and media production techniques while building creativity, patience, problem-solving skills, and an understanding of how animation is used in film, television, advertising, and digital content creation.
