Stoneware Slab Pot Building (for Juniors)
About this Event
Stoneware Slab Pot Building
During this morning workshop children will be taught the process of making a slab-built pot using stoneware clay. Collect materials from the local area to help with decorating your pots!
Students will also be invited to attend an additional 1 hour session on Friday 28th of August to glaze their pots with a coloured glaze after an initial bisque firing.
Any students who are not able to attend this session will have their pots glazed with a clear glaze.
Pots will be available to collect from the Severn Gorge Countryside Trust, Darby Road once they have been fully fired.

Wild Art Summer Programme
FREE Children’s Wild Art Summer Activities
Looking for something creative to do in the Summer Holiday?
Then why not join us at the Severn Gorge Countryside Trust for a series of art sessions running every Friday! Learn different art skills and techniques from our talented tutors, taking inspiration, and perhaps even materials, from the natural world. All sessions are FREE, but please note booking is essential as places are limited. We recommend that these sessions are suitable for children aged 8+ and they will need to attend with a parent or carer (adults do not require their own ticket).
This programme has been made possible thanks to funding from the Hilton Jones Charitable Trust.
Severn Gorge Countryside Trust
This workshop is being hosted by the Severn Gorge Countryside Trust, a local charity.
The Trust’s aim is to promote, protect and conserve the living landscape of the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site, which has a diverse range of habitats, including wildflower meadows, woodlands and heathlands. But that’s not all! We maintain over 20 kilometres of footpaths, conserve and protect 60 historic structures, run exciting Outdoor Learning and Volunteering Programmes to encourage local people and visitors to engage with the natural environment in a variety of ways.
All proceeds from this workshop will support the work of the Severn Gorge Countryside Trust.
