Stonehaven and Dunnottar Castle and Scotland's East Cost Day Trip

Discover one of Scotland's hidden treasures and spend a day exploring Scotland's most breathtaking destinations on the east coast. Dunnottar Castle is on everyone's bucket list who visits Scotland and it's also Student Tours' favourite tour. It was voted as Scotland's nominee to the 8th Wonder of World Competition and was also the inspiration for the beautiful castle setting in Disney Pixar’s animated film, Brave and Frankenstein (starring Daniel Radcliffe)! This tour also includes visiting Stonehaven and Dundee.

This tour takes you to the spectacular Dunnottar Castle – one of Scotland’s most iconic and dramatic historic sites. Perched high on the cliffs above the crashing waves of the North Sea, Dunnottar Castle was Scotland’s nominee for the 8th Wonder of the World and even inspired the castle setting in Disney Pixar’s 'Brave'! We’ll enjoy scenic walks around Dunnottar, where the magical coastal views and towering sea cliffs will leave you in awe. You’ll also visit the charming fishing town of Stonehaven, known for its picturesque harbour, seaside charm, and delicious ice cream! As one of our most popular tours, this East Coast adventure is packed with incredible sights and experiences and it’s one you absolutely can't miss!

  • IMPORTANT: When booking your ticket, you will be able to select one of the available pick-up points. If you need to change your selected pick-up point after booking, you must contact International Student Tours directly — we’ll be happy to assist you. if you arrive at a different pick-up point than the one chosen in your booking form, we cannot guarantee that you will be picked up.

Lunch / Things to bring with you

There will be time for a lunch break in restaurants, however, you can also bring your own packed lunch. Bring with you lots of smiles, a camera, warm clothes, proper walking / hiking shoes, an ID, a bottle of water and snacks. We will also have tea/coffee and toilet breaks throughout the journey.

  • Tickets are very limited and available based on first come, first served.
  • Tickets are non-refundable if you miss the tour for any reason.
  • If you can no longer attend, you may sell your ticket to others, however, you must notify in advance for check in purposes.

  • Our tours are open to everyone aged 18 and over, including adult students, professionals, visitors, and tourists. If you wish to book tickets for minors, you must contact us in advance.
