Stone Soup Community Circles- Beltane Blessings and Community Maypole

Join us for this month's Stone Soup Community Circle!

Note the change in venue AND TIME. Due to the closure of our beloved Haven, this circle will be held in the outdoor space at The Lyric Cinema and Cafe, as we celebrate local community spaces to continue our spiritual endeavors. This circle will start a half an hour later than our usual time.

*Circle will be an inclusive, supportive, non-judgmental place in order to practice the high sensations of being seen. All are welcome and all expressions will be celebrated!

Following the penetrating boost of the Sun's rays during Aries season, it's now time to settle into the warm Earth and discover what fresh miracles are ready to blossom- in our hearts, minds, and all around us. The arrival of Taurus season brings embodied pleasure to the senses.

As the days begin to stretch long, the sweet smells of blossoming trees, tender green buds, and rich fertile soil float on the warm gentle breeze, squeaky baby birds clamor for a meal, and we prepare to bring winter's lessons to the light. The hope and promise of fresh new life unfurls with the magick of Beltane.

In the Celtic tradition, Beltane marks the beginning of the warm half of the year. Celebrated historically and around the world on May 1st, this holiday stands as the halfway point between the Spring Equinox and the Summer Solstice. Beltane celebrations can include: Bonfires, Maypoles, Spring Flowers, Weaving Flower Crowns or Garlands, Dancing, Fertility Rites, Lovemaking, Handfasting Ceremonies, any and all forms of Revelry. These rituals are intended to honor the Earth's fertility, promote abundance, and welcome the return of the Sun's warmth and light.

To honor the Beltane season and add my own bit of revelry, this month's circle will include the joyful weaving of a community Maypole! The innocent silliness that ensues, dancing around, over and under giggling participants- if you've never participated before- you're in for a hilarious treat!

Along with the attainment of pleasure, Taurus Season, ruled by Venus, brings a desire for peace. With all of the craziness and painful events happening in the world, it can feel hard to access our inner serenity. Gathering together in kindness and creative community can help us find our center, and anchor into who we want to be in this emerging world. Change is coming and right now we have a chance to contribute our best selves, to create the type of world we want to live in. <3

Being with ourselves, in our bodies, is all that's required of us. Indulging all of our senses with pleasurable tastes, touches, sounds, sights, and smells helps savor the season. Slow and steady with fearless confidence is the way of the Bull.

This month's circle arrives just before the Scorpio Full Moon- also happening on Beltane, May 1st., adding a fiery boost to our celebrations! Mercury, Mars, Saturn, and Neptune still linger in Aries, contributing extra martial energy to the dark, carnal depths of this Full Moon, illuminated by a tranquil Taurus Sun.

Here's how it works:

Each month will have a different theme, based on the above astrological weather.

Come to circle prepared to share something with the group- it can be anything- a poem you wrote, piece of artwork, a craft, baked treats, homemade incense, oracle cards, a meditation, a dream, a story, psychic synchronicities, dance, movement, breathwork, teas, tinctures, wear a costume- literally ANYTHING that your heart wants to express, related to the Astro weather. Then, you vulnerably share this in our circle. Everyone gets a chance to contribute their own "ingredient," so each circle will be different, every circle will be fun!

(**Note, we are not making literal soup. Usually. :))

We know- it's incredibly scary to put yourself out there and share part of your innermost self. The high sensations that come with showing up this way are part of the medicine- part of the magick we will create together! This is how you manifest your desires. Face your fears, and do it anyway!

(Disclaimer: We understand that you may not be ready/able to prepare and share EVERY circle. Sometimes it's appropriate to show up and say "All I have to contribute today is my presence and my witnessing." But still show up! If it becomes a habit and people are consistently showing up without contributing, admins will gently reach out with encouragement to participate greater.)

Schedule:

6:00- 6:15pm: Greetings, social time, grab a drink.

6:15- 7:45pm: Set ritual space, circle shares.

7:45- 8:00pm: Connections, goodbyes.

Cost: Free! $5 donation suggested to help pay for our space, but if the cost is prohibitive- don't let it stop you, PLEASE come anyway!

This month's venue: The Lyric is a locally owned eclectic community hub that generates, distributes, and exhibits creative arts. We exist to amplify local voices, to foster creativity, and to bring together communities from Fort Collins and beyond.

*Note that this circle will be outside. Dress for the weather! There are covered areas to set up, in case of rain.
