Sound itself is carried by the space its in—it resonates within the air and reflected off earth that have been cared for by First Nations for time immemorial. ready, set sound! presents a night of fierce, folk-driven, foot-stomping music. You won’t want to miss this night of raw acoustic energy! Proceeds from this event will go to the Victoria Women’s Transition House Society, supporting their vital work with women and children in our community.

Ben Mason
Ben Mason is a musician and songwriter based in Victoria whose influences are varied and always shifting, but whose foundations can be found in the country, folk, and punk world. His goal is to give back a bit of what has been given to him by other artists creating what is genuine to them.

2x Irish music award-winning 34-year-old toothless nonbinary westcoast artist ‘q’ (they/them), formerly qristina bachand is a consummate performer who is clearly at ease on stage , & they are known for their powerful fiddle & captivating vocals. their contagious energy and love of Folk and Celtic music is always at the forefront, moving audiences with energetic and spirited performances which showcase their propensities for fiddling as well as song & story-sharing. q suffers from schizoaffective disorder, but finds ways to discern meaning and inspiration in life from their constant struggle with mental health and addictions; playing music and making art!

The Oldest Man I Know plays traditional music untraditionally. They earnestly blend the alternative music they grew up on with the traditional music they grew to love. They are an all acoustic trio based in Victoria, British Columbia.
