About this Event
Directed by Joshua Bailey, Stolen Kingdom explores the "dark side" of Disney fandom, where urban explorers trespass into abandoned or restricted areas (like River Country or closed attractions) to document them. The film centers on the disappearance of the Buzzy animatronic from the abandoned Cranium Command show in Epcot's Wonders of Life pavilion, which was worth roughly half a million dollars. Features interviews with prominent members of this community, including Patrick Spikes, who was arrested and charged in connection with the theft of items from Disney World, Stolen Kingdom documents how harmless exploration morphed into a "black-market underground" for stolen props.
The Mississippi Film Society is pleased to invite you to a special free screening of Stolen Kingdom on Tuesday night, May 12, at the Capri Theatre at 7 pm. Tickets are limited to four per order and are first-come, first-served. Food and drinks will be available for purchase during the screening.
This screening is part of their Stranger Than Fiction Film Screening Series, and is made possible, in part, by a grant from the Mississippi Arts Commission.
