About this Event

Stockton Rising is an initiative led by the City of Stockton and a coalition of community-based organizations to implement projects that advance climate action and social equity in South Stockton. This includes programs that reduce pollution, offer job training opportunities, and offset energy and transportation costs for low-income households.

As a part of the initiative, the City of Stockton has developed a Displacement Avoidance Plan to support housing stability for residents as it makes these neighborhood investments. These initiatives are funded through the Strategic Growth Council (SGC)’s Transformative Climate Communities (TCC) grant.

Community Workshop:

This community engagement workshop will introduce attendees to two of Stockton's strategies to minimize displacement: promotion of accessory dwelling unit (ADU) construction and Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) utilization.

Come learn about:

• Stockton's new ADU Toolkit aimed to help residents and contractors easily navigate the development process to build more affordable homes!
• How landlords/property managers can utilize the Housing Choice Voucher program to provide affordable housing and best practices for getting started.

A more detailed agenda will be shared with registrants closer to the event.

Additional Details:

• Light bites and refreshments will be provided.
• The event is family-friendly (children are welcome).
• Spanish interpretation will be provided.

The Stribley Center has free onsite public parking and ADA accessible entry. The nearest bus access is route 580 along S Wilson Way.
