Explore the world of embroidery on paper with our current Artist in Residence, Han Cao. In this workshop, participants learn a range of paper embroidery techniques, including hand stitching, and apply them to personal photographs or vintage postcards. Participants develop their own project while experimenting with texture, image, and thread.
Open to all skill levels.
For ages 16 and older. Those under age 16 may attend accompanied by an adult.
About the Speaker:
(She/Her) – Dallas, TX
Han Cao is a self-taught fiber artist based in Dallas, TX. Using hand embroidery on vintage photographs and postcards, she reimagines lost narratives through thread. Influenced by her Vietnamese upbringing, her art explores memory, identity, and belonging.
