Art meets sound therapy. Experience mindfulness, a sound bath, and loving kindness (metta) while working on fiber art/small-scale art.
About this Event

Experience a new way to be immersed in art while making art, and bringing mindfulness and compassion to ourselves and others.

What to expect
  • Mindfulness meditation to bring gratitude and connection into our core being and energy reserves.
  • Space to work on your art project while being immersed in art and community.
  • Loving kindness (metta) to bring compassion to ourselves and to Southwest Asia and North Africa, including Levant (Palestine and surrounding area), Sudan, and Iran.
  • Sound journey with an ocean drum and crystal singing bowls to support rest, stress release, and integration.
  • An allowing space and trauma-informed practice to be, just as you are.

How it works
  • Be guided through a mindfulness practice in an art gallery.
  • Work on your fiber art/small-scale art project that can be completed while seated, in your lap.
  • Experience a sound bath (crystal bowls, ocean drum), and a loving kindness practice (metta) while you craft.
  • You may choose to be seated or lay down on mats as you are comfortable.
  • This event will take place within a solo exhibition at Gallery 101 by Palestinian artist Rana Nazzal Hamadeh.

For everyone that wants
  • A deeper connection to themselves, crafting, and art.
  • Gentle support with stress and rest.
  • Mindfulness practice in an inclusive community environment.
  • Healing power of sound.

What to bring
  • A fiber art project (or other small-scale art) that can be completed while seated, in your lap.

Due to the setup of the event, there will be no tables; please bring a compact art project that you can complete while seated, in your lap.
