Specimen is a platform for producing intelligent electronic-based experimental music, influenced by hybrid genres of deep techno, techno-dub, broken beat live performance, and/or installation work. It is about the merging of audio and visual technologies, exploring and experimenting with production techniques and music composition with an open view of conceptual processes.

Specimen records have been making ground in the last two years with the birth of Spectro, both vinyl and digital outputs with now a fine roster of artists to showcase. Here we bring together the success of RIP since 88 and the now STIMULUS with its variant influenced electro hybrids such as D&B, breakbeat, and dub. A funky fusion of dark and deep electronica on the cusp of a new sound. Specimen has definitely carved its very own unique style in the Electro world, staying close to the edge and keeping it underground.

The 22nd presents Obzerv doing a live set, Arsonist Recorder, bringing a hybrid between decks and live performance, with new and upcoming resident DJ ETAKA, and special guest DJ Kim Cosmik which her dazzling wizardry. ETAKA London based selector EKATA is self-described as genre and sound obsessive. She has built a reputation as a huge advocate for purist Electro and a creator of a dark and warped experience.

Her Electro shows on Ripe Radio Manchester & Guest mixes with Hilltown Disco and Ear to Ground Records to name a few, have turned the heads of some of the most respected and well established artists of the underground scene, including the likes of Anthony Rother who has expressed his love for her vision.

EKATA is currently working on her own productions, she also has a brand new residency for Specimen Records that started in November 2021.

Arsonist Recorder Since 2018 he runs the ZwaarteKracht record label, focussing on his old love for breakbeat-electro. Past excursions into heavy breakcore and experimental electronica (as part of the duo “Quintrix”) led to performances alongside the likes of Venetian Snares, Sickboy, Patric C, a.o. And they still echo in his music today. His undeniable tendency towards groovy dark-matter beats and abstract, abrasive sound-design resurfaces in his most recent productions.

Arsonist Recorder is based in Brussels, Belgium. With a long history in noise, punk and experimental electronic music, playing in various groups and collectives, he eventually turned his focus more towards his original love for dark funk electro, and started ZwaarteKracht Records in 2017. The label soon made a name for itself with the production of some outstanding EP’s, which in turn led to a series of critically acclaimed releases on a variety of other labels such as Specimen Records, Diffuse Reality, Bass Agenda, C12 records, and most recently an EP through 20/20 Vision Recordings. Arsonist Recorder’s music has been finding its way into the DJ sets of some of the most respected selectors, such as DJ Stingray, The Advent, Helena Hauff, and the late Andrew Weatherall.

His latest EP entitled “GEIST” is available now through 20/20 Vision Recordings.

Kim Cosmik started as a DJ with Sprial Tribe and Bedlam, playing at festivals and clubs all over the U.K and Europe as well as the legendary Knowledge Club at S.W.1, London.

Kim Cosmik formed her own label, Void Records with fellow band member Blaze and in partnership with Hotmix / Bunker records in Holland and then Void was later signed to Matador EMI.

Kim Cosmik also created a new alias, Siren and released drum and bass music with Blaze on Spectrum Audio / Alphamagic and also collaborated with Dj Damage with a track remix by Dylan.

Kim Cosmik has played with many amazing artists such as Lory D, Leo Anibaldi, Colin Dale, Serge Clone, Aleksi Perala, Andy Turner, B12, Radioactiveman and many more.

Kim Cosmik is currently a resident at Threads Radio, Techno Club, and her own event Hybrid which she launched in 2019. Kim Cosmik is currently releasing music through her label Cybersoul on Bandcamp as well as with a variety of labels such as Touched Music, Section 27, Bass Agenda, Urban Connections, Arsonist Recorder's Zwaartekracht label, Diffuse Reality, Science Cult and 2020 Vision.

Andy Jaggers ADJ originates from and is based in London.

He has been playing Underground Electronic Music for over 35 years as a DJ, starting in the days of Early Electro and Hip Hop. He has also been producing and releasing music for 25 years, releasing over 200 tracks in this time on a plethora of labels including Andrea Parker's Touchin Bass, For Those That Knoe, Another Perspective, Tensor Norm, Woodwork, Ai, Outside USA, Cultivated Electronics, Section 27, Yellow Machines, Crobot Muzik - Croatia (with Advent), Diffuse Reality, Battery Park - Germany, Kidnapping Netlabel - Argentina, Interakt, Shameless Toady, District 6, Open Mind, Electro Compendium, Digital Distortions, Fundamental and has done remixes for Flint Kids, Scanone, Ed Chamberlain, Sync24, Lifecycle, LASynthesis, Carbinax, Nter, Carl Finlow, Fleck Esc, Dj Astrobee, Arsonist Recorder and Paul Hierophant. '.


He has run the Pyramid Transmissions Record label with label partner Pathic for 20 years and also ran the Analogique record label for 5 years from 1995-2000 releasing Techno, Electro and Electronica as 3 Elements.


As a DJ, he has played at many festivals including a BLOC residency, Glastonbury For BLOC, Bestival, Shambala, Infiltrate at WMC Miami. 2019 saw another tour of the US with Silicon Scally, Ben Milstein, EVAC, Ion Driver and 214. He also runs the Dodo Club and Frequency Resonate(with Errorbeauty) nights in London and Berlin as well as playing in Lille, Kiev, Moscow, St Petersburg Berlin, Zagreb, Athens, Napoli, Brussels, Budapest, Vienna, Valencia, Sofia, Paris and played for the SKIZZE Crew/X-Ploration and also at Greismuhlle in Berlin, Barcelona (for CERCLE) Madrid and Valencia (with UMWELT). He has played in 2021 for Datamine, Hybrid and Specimen Records and Aaja.

ADJ also performed his first LIVE set in a few years in March 2020 @MUTABOR in Moscow.
ADJ is currently working on several projects and has released vinyls on For Those That Knoe, Another Perspective, Tensor Norm in 2020/21 with forthcoming vinyl on Science Cult and Arkada in early 2022. He has also released several remixes on Diffuse Reality, Specimen, Hierophant Dubs/Exalt , Woodwork in 2020/21 .

Obzerv

Originally from a Trap/Hip-Hop background, but it was electro music that opened up the door to a new world for Obzerv. Through blending together dark atmospheric soundscapes with carefully calculated and energetic drum programming, he has created a unique minimal/punchy and very complex style. It is no coincidence that he has been quoted as “electro’s best kept secret”.

Obzerv has been making major moves in the electro scene over the past few years, performing some incredible hardware live sets alongside the likes of The Advent, Assembler Code and Radioactive Man. His live sets have been said to "take you on a interdimensional journey through his sound”. Over the course of 2021, he has honed in on his productions and concepts to release some unforgettable tracks on wax with labels such as Blind Allies, Gunfinger Food and Patchbay Records.
