About this Event
On Saturday, February 25th at 1pm, join Massy Arts and Iranian-Canadian visual artist Mehran Modarres-Sadeghi for the in-person still life workshop, Drawing Negative Space.
In this introductory course, attendees will develop skills in drawing objects from observation using various drawing materials such as graphite pencils, charcoal sticks, and India ink/watercolor paints. In class, they will explore basic techniques of contour drawing, shading, and blending while drawing from still life arrangements set up in the class.
Mehran says: “We will focus on drawing negative space and discuss several methods of identifying the negative shapes around the objects. There will be step-by-step drawing demonstrations, as well as presentations and discussions.”
The workshop is open to any skill level, and is meant to be a fun and creative way to stay connected.
Registration is open to all, and required for entrance.
