About this Event
Are you a midwife, sonographer, nurse or other health care worker who support parents experiencing the loss of a baby in pregnancy or just after birth?
Could you benefit from some self-care and spending time with like-minded colleagues who understand away from the medical environment?
The very first ever ‘Still Care’ workshop will be launched during this year’s Baby Loss Awareness Month 2024 and will focus on self-care and nourishment as you head into the thick of the busy baby boom Autumn period.
Join us at the end of October to shake off some emotion, move some stagnant energy and soak up some movement medicine. Moving your body is a great thing for your mind, body and soul and help you feel cleansed, revitalised and recharged ready for the months ahead.
This workshop will be guided by movement specialist Annabel Newfield and will begin with a welcome of nourishing food and drink.
We will provide a beautiful mix of good food, connection with others who understand, movement, music, breath-work, mindfulness, outdoors and art. A perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
You can find out about the project and the plans we have for it and ask any questions you have. These workshops will take place monthly from November and will be led by an artist and supported by an experienced counsellor and will be a safe space away from ‘work’ to share and reflect.
For the time-being workshops will run on a Sunday afternoon but we want to work with you to find the best and most optimum time to hold this space.
These pioneering workshops are part of a new project led by the Whitworth Art Gallery as a new strand to their multi-award winning 'Still Parents' project. The ‘Still Care’ project aims to support those who care for parents who have experienced the loss of a baby in pregnancy or just after birth. The project will use the therapeutic power of art and creativity to support emotional well-being and provide self-care opportunities. And will bring peers together to connect, reflect and share their professional experiences of baby loss through a series of monthly art workshops.
‘Still Care’ is funded by the Rayne Foundation and Sands charity.
