Join us for a day dedicated to celebrating the amazing National Natural Landmark that is Garden of the Gods Park!
Through interactive tables, wildlife programs, volunteer opportunities, and guided walks we hope you will get to learn more about the importance of preserving and caring for this very special place. This event is open to the public and entry is free!
Programs Schedule:
Garden of the Gods Trail Work Volunteer Day with Rocky Mountain Field Institute
8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Join us, RMFI, and City Park Staff in Garden of the Gods for trail maintenance! This is a community stewardship opportunity that welcomes volunteers from all backgrounds and communities. Volunteers who are interested must register online by Friday, August 21, at noon. Ages 11+, minors 15 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

Wish You Were Here – Postcard Art Class
9:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Cafe Terrace
Create your very own Garden of the Gods inspired postcard! Local artist, Brenda Harris, will lead you step by step through a painted scene inspired by local views of the park. This painting class is for all skill levels. Every student will walk away with a handful of handmade postcards to share, or keep!

Wildlife Conservation Programs from Nature’s Educators
Red Rocks Room
Join Nature’s Educators to learn more about wildlife conservation with live animal ambassadors including a Bald Eagle, Aplomado Falcon, Peregrine Falcon, Burrowing Owl, and Desert Tortoise. These programs are free and first come first served during the following times:
10:00 – 11:00 AM
11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
1:00 – 2:00 PM
2:00 – 3:00 PM
No registration required, seating is first come, first served .
Guided Nature Walks
Meet at the alcove next to the American Flag Pole
Learn more about history, wildlife, geology, and what it takes to maintain the Park with a knowledgeable guide!

1:00 PM – 2:00 PM
