About this Event
Invasive species are rapidly changing the look and health of our local landscapes—and some of the biggest threats are hiding right in our shade trees and understory. Join us for an informative program focused on the invasive plants and pests impacting Whitpain Township, including Callery Pear, Lesser Celandine, Multiflora Rose, English Ivy, Emerald Ash Borer, Brown Marmorated Stink Bug, Norway and more.
Learn how these species spread, the damage they cause to native ecosystems, and what you can do to manage them on your own property and in your community.
Guest speaker Kayla Keres, Forester with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation & Natural Resources, will share expert insight into what’s “popping up” locally and how these invasives are reshaping our natural environment.
