FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC In a reference to both the famous Bob Dylan song and Schick’s childhood on a farm in northern Iowa, “A Hard Rain” explores the richness and complexity of the musical experience. Through the lens of Brian Ferneyhough’s hyper-virtuosic percussion solo, Bone Alphabet and Sarah Hennies’ equally rigorous vibraphone duo, Settle, Schick will examine the challenges of a contemporary musician who seeks simultaneously to look inward towards the details of their craft and outward toward an engagement with the natural world and with diverse communities of listeners.
