Steve Williams- Singer Songwriter-
St. Louis native Steve Williams has played music professionally since the young age of fourteen, but it was his move Nashville in 1995 to pursue a career as a songwriter, that changed his life. His talents were quickly recognized and soon after relocating, he signed with MALACO music publishing.
Steve Williams’ song, “Where Have I Been All My Life” was featured on George Strait’s album, “TWANG” (2009 release) and has been heralded as one of the most poignant songs of Strait’s career. His summer fun song, “Redneck Yacht Club” went to #1 in 2005, spawning the popular website www.redneckyachtclub.com. Bucky Covington’s 2010 release, “A Fathers Love (The Only Way He Knew How)” another Williams’ write, received rave reviews, with country radio quoted as saying, “It’s Bucky’s best yet!” The Oak Ridge Boys cut his song, “What’cha Gonna Do” and the video made a huge splash on YouTube. Other successes include; “I Get To”, which flew to #1 on the Christian Music Charts and has been recorded by several artists, and “I Didn’t”, recorded by Trick Pony.
Steve is also a staff songwriter for Operation Song (OperationSong.org) writing with veterans with PTSD and/or extraordinary survival stories helping them heal from difficult experiences. His song set to video, “Good Co-Pilot” (written with 93 year old Richard Stroud, a world war 2 and Korean War Vet & Navy pilot) is up for an award with the San Diego Film Festival. Wil Nance recently hit the top of R&R and Billboard with his Brad Paisley smash “She’s Everything”, which stayed at #1 for three weeks. In addition; he also wrote the Brad Paisley song “Hard To Say Hello”, which was on Brad’s Time Well Wasted bonus album sold in Target stores.
In 1999, Wil received a BMI award for “Round About Way,” a #1 hit single for George Strait. It has also landed on other George Strait albums, such as; George Strait’s Latest Greatest Hits, and George Strait’s 50 Number Ones … Over seven million sales and counting.
Then in 2004, Wil received another BMI Award for his Joe Nichols single “Cool To Be A Fool”.
Other recent cuts include; the Blue County single “I Get To”, Tracy Lawrence's “Your’e Why God Made Me” and “Just Like Her,”, Joe Nichols' “Honky Tonk Girl,” Lyric Street Artist Lisa Shaffer “I Know I Love You” and “Sittin’ On Top Of The World,” as well as other major and independent label cuts.
Some of his past songwriting credits include; “You Are”, a John Michael Montgomery single, “Next To Nothin,’” a Gene Watson single, cuts on Neal McCoy “Same Boots,” Craig Morgan “Everything’s A Thing,” “It’s Me,” “What You Do To Me,” Mchayes' “Mr. Right Now,” Diamond Rio “Big Time Lonesome,” and many others.
