Steve Hensby Band are splitting at the seams with an assault to the musical senses with elements of funk, soul, ska, world, a sprinkle of psychedelia and a dash of folk. The 9-piece ensemble is regular in the WA festival circuit and features a healthy sized horn section. It has been said that they are very danceable! Their 5th album ‘Astronomers Aren’t Morning People’ is due for release in 2024.Steve Hensby is an in demand as a session musician in Australia, for both studio recordings and live performances and is the current WAM guitarist of the year. He has performed with Jackson Browne, Tim Minchin, John Cleary, Steve Poltz, Randy Feltface, Taasha Coates, Deborah Conway, Mick Thomas, Perth Symphony Orchestra and the West Australian Symphony Orchestra.
As well as releasing five original albums, Steve has provided the AFL Quarter-Time and Three-Quarter-Time entertainment at several AFL games at both Subiaco Oval and Optus Stadium, Perth. He also played numerous performances at Singapore National Stadium for the Rugby Sevens Competition.
