A return engagement for this multi-hyphenate singer-songwriter-screenwriter-producer-director. Although his voice has been compared to Kurt Reichenbach, Kurt Elling, and Michael Franks, Mr. Brock counts James Taylor, Carole King, Billy Joel, Elton John, Mel Tormé, and Harry Connick, Jr. among his musical influences, and possesses a special affection for bossa nova and the sounds of Brazil. His CD, Cry By the Light of the Moon, (2014), contains inventive arrangements of classic and modern standards as well as his own original songs created over the years, with lyrics that continue the traditions of the great story-teller songwriters like Harry Chapin and James Taylor, including his very first song: “Tell Me That I’m a Fool,” written while he was still in high school. His second CD, Infinity, was released in 2018. In addition, he wrote, produced, and acted in the 2020 film, Echoes of Kerberos, and played “Ted” in the feature film, Reality Queen, alongside Denise Richards. This show features Dave Moscoe (Piano), Gary Wicks (Bass), Dori Amarilio (Guitar), Gary Gibbons (Drums) and guest appearances by Keri Kelsy, John Ciccolini and Jerome Pittman.
There are two components to each guest check: 1.) The “cover charge” which is set by the performer, and perhaps more properly could be identified as an “entertainment charge.” 2.) The charge for food and beverage. This second component possesses a “minimum,” which is defined as “two-drinks,” but this two-drink minimum can be waived if the patron has dinner, which is defined as the ordering of an entrée. Please note that neither the “cover charge” nor the minimum food and beverage charge are waived for late arrivals.
PARKING:
The Gardenia does not have a parking area dedicated for patrons, and there is no valet parking. Street parking is available.
Here are some quotes from those who have seen me perform.
"Steve Brock's show at the Gardenia on August 2 gave us a fascinating window into Steve's songwriting inspirations and the accomplished results. His very satisfying vocals well conveyed the often emotional and confessional material. An enjoyable evening, especially for those who appreciate the songwriter's craft." -- Steve Sieck
"I was happy to see Steve Brock’s show. I’ve always loved his voice. He picked the best opening song. “Shaker”, which was so refreshing to hear. He sang the right balance of originals and standards. Guests John Ciccolini and Keri Kelsey sang Steve’s originals beautifully" -- Dolores Scozzesi
