Stepping Into the Circle: How to Lead Circle Singing and Circle Songs

Have you ever wanted to lead circle singing?

Are you curious what makes community based improvisational singing work?

Wonder what it's like to quickly and playfully get others to erupt in spontaneous song?

Led by singer, sound healing artist Davin Youngs, this three-part workshop (Feb 8, 15 & 22) invites singers of all skill levels and abilities to hone their talents for leading improvisational singing and spontaneous song.

Please note: This three-part workshop is limited to 20 participants.

Guided by the principles of improvisation championed by luminaries like Bobby McFerrin and Rhiannon, you will be expertly lead through a series of engaging games and exercises designed to deepen your understanding of how circle singing works. Once the foundational principals are in place, you'll get the opportunity to step in the middle and give it a try!

All voices are not only welcome but celebrated in this inclusive space, but also, you must posess a willingness to step into the middle of the circle and be heard and seen in the spirit of collective song.

Stepping Into the Circle will take place February 8, 15 & 22 at Grace Place from 12:30pm - 2:30pm. By purchasing your ticket, you are committing to all three dates.
