Formed in the midst of the pandemic by friends and colleagues from Los Angeles and Miami, Barrington native Stephanie Block brings together this group of world-class musicians, all of whom are graduates of major conservatories including Juilliard and Indiana University. Featuring Dylan Naroff, violin; Michael Turkell, violin; Stephanie Block, viola; Emily Williams, viola; Nicholas Mariscal, cello, and Ben Fried, cello, this group includes members of the Milwaukee, Fort Worth, and New World Symphonies.
The artists have performed internationally with the London Symphony Orchestra and Los Angeles Philharmonic, among others. They share a mutual passion for bringing classical music to new and diverse audiences, and they thank Barrington White House for this wonderful opportunity to share live music again.
Schoenberg’s Verklärte Nacht and Brahms’ String Sextet No. 2 in G Major are considered masterworks of the 19th century. Beginning with the dark and foreboding opening of Verklärte Nacht to the joyous ending of the Brahms sextet, these works are reflective of a journey from darkness to light. From the warm world of Brahms to the extreme emotional intensity of Schoenberg, this program also serves as a fascinating look into the evolution of romanticism.
We encourage you to join us in person if you are comfortable doing so. Tickets are limited; this event is also live-streamed.
