STEP NSW Branch invites you to a seminar with Paul Evans TEP of Makinson d'Apice Lawyers.
Topic: Non-Resident Beneficiaries in the Estate Plan – a Thorn in the Side?
We live in a global and multicultural society where most families will have members who may either be non-Australian tax residents or non-Australian citizens which may have unintended consequences in the estate plan. Paul will review:
- Federal and State legislation including CGT, Stamp Duty and Land Tax liability
- Tax issues with trust distributions to non-resident beneficiaries
- Tests for determining residency
- Reviewing and updating Trust Deeds
- Practical advice for clients
